Ruppendorf – a home with heart since 1349

Welcome to Ruppendorf, a district of the municipality of Klingenberg in the beautiful Eastern Ore Mountains, situated approximately 26 kilometres south-west of Dresden. The village lies at an elevation of between 364 and 493 metres, which means that the higher areas already experience a rugged climate in autumn and winter. The region is predominantly agricultural, giving it a rural and nature-rich atmosphere. Since its first documentary mention in 1349 as “Ropotendorf”, the village has been shaped by a long history whose traces remain visible to this day. The preserved tower of the former moated castle – once a border fortress between the Burgraviate of Dohna and the Margrave of Meissen – stands as a striking landmark of our village.

With around 700 residents, Ruppendorf is a vibrant and active village today. A diverse range of clubs and associations, local events and attractive sights make Ruppendorf a wonderful place to live and visit.

The historic village church with its carved altar from the early 16th century, the MSC Raceway – one of the most modern RC car tracks in Germany – as well as further attractions and hiking routes offer a varied programme for both residents and guests alike.
