Our village A home with heart since 1349
Our village is located in the Eastern Ore Mountains, 26 kilometers southwest of Dresden, nestled in the agricultural landscape between 364 and 497 meters above sea level.
Ruppendorf has been telling its story since it was first mentioned in a document in 1349 as “Ropotendorf.” The preserved tower of the former moated castle—once a border fortress between the Burgraviate of Dohna and the Margrave of Meissen—remains our striking landmark to this day.
